Distraction (Club Destiny #8) by Nicole Edwards

Title: Distraction
Series: Club Destiny
Author: Nicole Edwards
Genre: Adult, Erotic Romance
Published: January 31, 2017
Time doesn’t always heal a broken heart. Sometimes the only thing it does is fill the darkness with more shadows, more pain.

Dylan Thomas has spent the past decade living in the shadows, mourning the loss of his wife, his best friend, his very reason for breathing. He long ago accepted that he would never feel again, that he was damned to a world without light, without hope. That was the day the bottle won, and he gave himself over to the darkness.

Until the one night that rocked his brittle, crumbling world on its axis. She told him what they shared was simply a distraction, a way to forget for a little while. It would’ve been, except the tiny glimpse of how it feels to live again, to feel again, gives him the strength he needs to pull himself up by his boot straps. But sobriety comes one day at a time, and three years later may be three years too late.
Dylan's book was a long time coming but Nicole Edwards knows how to make it an exceptional book.
Being that this book draws on a huge amount of Nicole's personal experience with depression, she has brought this book justice by bringing the suffering of depression in the open.

Dylan's book might be the last book in the series but it has brought a great segue into the next book of a new series for Trent. This book shows that time can't heal all wounds but the right person with you at the right time in your life can help you navigate through the rest of your life with some ease.

Sarah has suffered loss in her life as well and can have an understanding of what Dylan feels. Sarah has always had some feelings for Dylan but doesn't want to be used as a Distraction anymore in his life. Sarah has her own issues to work through and is getting there.

Both Dylan and Sarah compliment each other and can support the other person when they get into a state and know that they are there for the other person.

Nicole has written one of her best books by far and it was probably one of the hardest for her to write.
