Do
you outline/plot or are you pantster – meaning you write as it comes to you?
I’m a little bit of both. Since I write mainly character-driven stories, I don’t do a lot of plotting. Since I sell on proposal, I’ve had to learn to plot but when I write for myself, I pretty much pants it.

Is there anything that you have to have with you while writing?
No, but I’ve found that there are things I don’t need. I don’t need the clutter on my desk. If there’s too much stuff, I can’t concentrate. But if Henri, my little gargoyle, is not in his spot next to my monitor, I have to put him there before I start.
