It was a bold question coming from her sweet innocent voice. Heat blistered through his body. Reaching out, he tipped her chin up. “No.”
“Why?”
“It’s a lonely place.” His admission was as bold as her question. How was she able to wrest such raw honesty from his very tormented soul?
