One dominant alpha male.
One innocent bewitching woman.
Equals one explosive attraction.

Mia Brunetti is far too busy with her studies to worry about having a man in her life. Growing up with three unruly and overprotective brothers has made her wary of men in general. That goes double if he's your brother’s best friend.

For years, Mia has worshipped Zane Mitchell and has avoided him and hidden her heart behind a wall. She has waited her entire life for Zane to see her as more than her brother's little sister. Now that she’s old enough to stake her claim on him, she’s pulling out all the sexual stops.

Zane has sworn off all women…until innocent Mia catches his attention. He is a devastatingly, masculine male who makes Mia's imagination go wild, but Zane has desires that would send innocent Mia running. The recently injured ex-cop is now working for the Brunetti family empire. As part of Mia's internship, Mia's brothers have placed her under Zane's wing. He is more than willing to take Mia up on her offer. The fun and games tie them both up in knots. Mia isn’t willing to settle for less than the whole package. But dominant Zane, even though the sexy country girl sets his blood ablaze, is determined to resist her efforts to protect his battered heart and her from his needs.

Series: Naked Nights #0.5
Author: Ava Manello

Synopsis:

 photo stripback_zps1112a197.jpg

Strip Back brings you back to how the Naked Night's began. This is Eric's story. Back when life was a little less polished, and a whole lot harder.

Before there was Strip Teaser, there was Eric; manager and founder of the Naked Night’s male stripper troupe.

You wouldn’t think you’d be past it at 34, but that’s the position Eric found himself in, as well as newly single after finding his girlfriend in a compromising position.

Setting up the Naked Night’s wasn’t easy, it wasn’t fun, and it wasn’t without sleaze, but somehow he did it.

Strip Back is a humorous and steamy tale of one man’s journey to fulfill a dream. Not all male strippers are the same.

Excerpt:

“So this list is about moving on or something, I assume?” He held it up, just out of my reach.
I made a pass for it. “Something like that.”
“It goes without question I’ll be your partner for this.”
Was he shitting me? One glimpse at his serious stare confirmed he wasn’t. Had I been sitting across the table from him in the boardroom, I would’ve given him anything he wanted when he reeked of such determination. I’d sign over my company, my trust, everything he demanded. Without question.
I arched a brow, going for a nonplussed expression, when inside even my nonexistent appendix was doing the wave. “It does?”
He nodded. “I don’t want you to have to settle for second best. And I happen to hear I’m not disappointing in this department.”
Shit. Play it cool. I swallowed and gave a noncommittal shrug, even though my insides vibrated so hard that in seconds I’d melt into primordial goo. “I haven’t seen enough of your alleged skills, and this is an awfully big commitment.”
His eyes narrowed. “Are you seriously asking for what…like a sample?”
“You could say that.” For his benefit more than mine. He would’ve had me at the thumb stroking yesterday. Ethan had been pretty brutal when we broke up. And by brutal, he chopped my heart into little pieces, grilled them up, and fed them to dragons…then killed the dragons. If you want to talk about zero votes of confidence in one’s self, I was the reigning champion.
“And if my services are deemed satisfactory?” he asked.
Great question. Good thing I’d come prepared. “We should set some guidelines.”
His brow rose. “Guidelines? You mean a safe word?”
I squeezed my eyes shut. “You did not just say that.”
He laughed. “I take it that’s not what you meant.”
Recovering from the mention of a safe word—and a quick side trip thinking of what activities we could do that would involve one—I shook my head and started with the list I’d come up with while falling asleep last night. “If we do this list together, things are going to change. A lot. I don’t want to lose our friendship, so if you think this is going to have a negative impact, you need to just hand me that list and…and…”
“And you’ll find somebody else to do it with? Not an option.” His free hand took mine and his thumb stroked the curve of my palm.
A tidal wave of hormones ravaged my insides. If he kept that up I’d be making babies with him in an hour or less.
“You know what I mean,” I said. “Our friendship means a lot to me. If there is any chance of us not having a friendship later, I don’t want to do it.”
His shoulders relaxed. “Understood and agreed. So we need to decide how to make that happen.”
“Which is why I think we need to have an expiration date for the list part of our relationship.” I explained the parameters of the bet, and the deadline. Although he listened quietly, the wheels were turning. That much I could see plainly, even though he didn’t say a word. “Since I have until the end of the month to make all this happen, I think that’s when our arrangement should end, too.”
“Why only a month?”
“Because that’s the time I was given. And we can only do the stuff on the list—no extras. I don’t want to fall into real relationship territory.”
“Just the things on the list, huh? So no foreplay that doesn’t lead to sex?”
“You would do that?” Why would a guy do that if they didn’t get something out of it?
He shrugged. “It’s fun. Plus, it’ll make the list sex better.”
“Fine. In the interest of making the list sex better, we can partake in some limited foreplay activities.”
“Excellent. And a real relationship is out of the question, why?”
“Because I just broke off my engagement, moved across the country, barely have a penny to my name, and…” I shrugged. Of course I wanted a real relationship with him. Right now, though? “It’s just a bad time.”
Wheels seemed to spin a centrifugal force now. “If that’s what you want.”
“You agree?” Too easy. Sawyer was a known hardass.
He nodded. “With a few stipulations. One, exclusivity.”
“Done.”
“Two, I want to make this less one-sided.”
“One-sided?”
“You’re the one who gets all the benefit out of this. I’m just your sex toy.”
I choked a little. “You’re not going to enjoy it? At all?”
He shrugged, but I couldn’t help but notice the way his dimples deepened. “The life of a pleasure slave is hard, but I’ll get by somehow.”
I swatted his shoulder.
“That magazine couldn’t have come out at a worse time. The last thing I want is a relationship, either. So you’ll be my pretend girlfriend until the excitement dies.”
“Not to say I told you so, but didn’t I tell you a fake girlfriend would come in handy?”
“I never said I didn’t agree,” he said.
“But that’s only a month’s reprieve,” I reminded him. “What’s your Plan B for when this ends?”
He averted his eyes and busied himself with picking at the sheets. “After you win your bet, we’ll reevaluate. Besides, you might be too addicted to me to let me go.”
I snorted. “You have a lot to live up to. I hope you don’t let me down.”
His eyes met mine again, and they smoldered. “Guess you’ll have to wait and see.”
I had no doubts he’d live up to his own standards and more. It was me I worried about.
He lifted up the tray and put it on the bedside table behind him. He stretched his arm toward me and crooked his finger. “Come here.”
I moved across the bed until I was chest to chest with him, and he wrapped his arm around me and snuggled close. He was so warm, and I’d never felt so… I shook my head. So much for keeping a friendly distance.
“What now?” I asked.
“It sounds like we have a deal,” he said. “Now we move onto the sampling of my services, and go from there.”

TILL DEATH (#1, Logan's Lonestar Heroes)

Blurb:

Dave Logan, owner of Deep Six Security, is stunned when former Dallas FBI head, Susan Whitmore, darkens his doorstep accusing him of being the cause of her losing her job. After hearing her situation, Dave feels something he never expects to feel--sorry for her. But he also knows any problems she had at the agency were all her own fault. The woman has a tongue so sharp it could rip a man to shreds, and had many times. There was a reason her agents dubbed her the Barracuda.

Although Dave needs agents in the worst way, and Susan, with an IQ higher than Einstein, better skills and more experience than any of his men, along with a master's degree in criminal justice, is more than qualified to be a member of his team, he just doesn't need the drama she and her mouth would bring to Deep Six . Even as his brain said no way though, his damned white-knight complex forces him to offer her a job as his temporary secretary.

Realizing he's made a huge mistake hiring her, Dave calls in favors to get her interviews to get her out of his office. Before he can get rid of her though, Dave gets a new case only Susan can help him with. A wealthy Dallas oilman and his trophy wife ordered a designer baby from a local fertility clinic, and the surrogate has gone missing with the baby. The couple wants Deep Six Security to investigate the facility and find the baby, but the only way Dave can do that is to get inside. To get inside his only option is to go undercover with Susan, posing as a wealthy married couple looking for a baby. What they find when they get to the spa-like compound is frightening. Payoffs, missing surrogates and young women being used as lab rats are just the tip of the iceberg.

Can two alpha personalities, both used to being in charge, work together long enough to figure out what's going on at the clinic, or will they kill each other before the bad guys at the facility have a chance? If they're lucky, perhaps the delicious friction between them will turn into something so hot the place spontaneously combusts. Or if they're luckier, maybe it will turn into something which might just last till death do them part.

Dave’s foot slid on the papers under his desk again, and he cleared his throat. This was the worst idea he’d ever had and he knew like hell he was going to regret it, but he couldn’t stop the white knight inside of him from laying his neck into the cradle of the guillotine. “Do you have any secretarial skills?”
Susan laughed loudly. “I’m a former federal agent with a master’s degree in criminal justice, an IQ higher than Einstein, and a black belt in jiu jitsu. You want to offer me a secretarial job?” Her tone indicated she thought he was a moron. That was the problem. Susan Whitmore thought everyone was an idiot except for her.
Well, she wasn’t as smart as she thought she was evidently.

Dave shrugged, as he leaned back in his chair to casually tent his fingers. “You walked out of a federal agency management job with no notice. I suspect that’s all you’ll be able to find immediately considering those circumstances.” And your attitude, he added mentally. “But I understand you’ll be looking for something else while you work here.” Leaning forward again, he propped his arms on his desk and pinned her with his eyes. “As long as you can manage to rein in your mouth and get along with the guys, it could be a mutually beneficial temporary arrangement.”

Very temporary if she couldn’t manage that.

Susan pushed up to her feet to put her hands on her hips to glare down at him. “You’re an arrogant asshole, Dave Logan.”

Dave laughed. “Takes one to know one, sweetheart.”

18+ HOT EXCERPT, TILL DEATH (#1, Logan's Lonestar Heroes)

Excerpt from TILL DEATH (#1, Logan's Heroes) (c) Becky McGraw, 2014, all rights reserved.

Dave huffed a breath too as he followed Mac out of the conference room. Yes, the sooner he got Susan out of his office the better. He had been avoiding her like the plague, hadn’t seen her since their confrontation over the popsicles, but he knew now his luck was running out.

Against all odds, his men were becoming attached to her and she was obviously encouraging it. The last thing he needed in this office was friction or drama, and he could see it coming with the new Susan Whitmore fan club. Dave just needed her gone, before she embedded herself into his group and removing her would be like extracting a cactus spine.
Just as he rounded the corner into the outer office, Susan walked out of the kitchen toward him. She was sucking on something, but it didn’t look like a popsicle. When she got closer he realized it was some kind of candy. It was also the first time he’d seen her that day, or any day since the day he told her to lose the baggy suits.

Her new uniform of choice was skin tight yoga pants and a tank top. No wonder his men were gaga. Dave just barely kept his own tongue from flapping out of his mouth, as his eyes ticked over her full breasts and down her mile-long, muscular legs to her toes while she walked over to her desk. Dave knew Susan was athletic, and over the years he’d often wondered what her body looked like under those baggy black suits. Well he didn’t have to wonder anymore. Every square inch of her tight body was right there for him to see. There was absolutely nothing left to his imagination. Good God—she was built like a brick shithouse. His body quickly registered that fact too.

Susan paused at her desk and held his eyes as she slowly slid the white stick out of her mouth until a round, pink ball appeared. She stopped to twirl the candy between her lips, which made matters much, much worse. As she pulled the candy from her mouth, it made a sucking, popping noise and Dave bit back a groan.

Susan’s eyebrow lifted, and she smiled. Waving the candy at him, she said breezily, in that husky voice of hers, “Howdy, stranger. Did I catch you before you scurried into your office like a cockroach? Or did you need something?”

Now, that was definitely a loaded question, Dave thought, as he stood there staring at her breasts. He couldn’t help himself from giving his imagination free rein. Unless she was a mind reader, it wouldn’t hurt, and he didn’t think her super brain had given her that superpower. If it had, he was probably a dead man, because with her standing right there in front of him, he imagined her throaty, raspy voice would sound just that way when she moaned as he lifted her hips and shoved his aching cock inside of her body. Her body would make that delicious sucking, popping noise she’d made with the candy when he pulled back out. He’d fuck her slowly, torture her until she begged him to make her come. His name would be a hoarse, almost soundless, whisper on her full lips when he finally gave her what she asked for. Her body would clutch his dick, squeeze it like a vise, pulling him further inside of her with every pulsation of her orgasm, until he came too. Dave would fuck her all night long in every position he could think of, and some that had yet to be invented. She would have to beg him for a few minutes to catch her breath in that same raspy voice.

If given the chance, Dave would spend all night long, hell a week, giving her exactly what she was asking for by wearing those clothes, sucking that damned candy, and using that breathy whisper. At that second, he wanted that more than he wanted his next breath.

As much fire as this woman had inside of her, he imagined she would be a freak between the sheets. He wanted to meet that freak and teach her a lesson about teasing a man. Tie that freak to his bed and keep her there until he worked her out of his system.

Dave’s chin dropped to his chest, a groan rumbled in his chest and his breathing hitched, as his cock went rock solid behind his fly. He was surprised when he felt a finger under his chin right before it was tipped upward. His eyes met Susan’s curious blue stare and the spell was broken.

“You okay, boss man? You look a little…flushed,” she purred.

With a smug grin, she held his gaze and lifted the candy ball, stuck out her tongue and curled it to twirl the candy in the well, then flicked her tongue over it making little mewling noises in her throat. When she added slow flirtatious sweeps of her eyelashes over her big blue eyes, Dave knew for sure she was playing him, and he wasn’t amused.

She’s a very smart woman.

Evidently more than smart enough to figure out that his problem with her eating the popsicles was about a lot more than a drip trail in the kitchen. And he was almost certain now that the skin-tight yoga suits weren’t about comfort. This was her bid to pay Dave back for his baggy suit comment. Mind games to teach him a lesson.

Because Susan Whitmore thought she was smarter than him.

She would be the one learning a lesson today. About him. “I need to see you in my office, now,” Dave growled as he turned to stomp toward his office

Laura Kaye's HARD TO COME BY Review & Excerpt Tour

EXCERPT:
Beckett and Emilie watched Shane pick glass out of Marz’s arm was about as comfortable as having an armful of glass in the first place. Marz actually hadn’t registered how much it stung until Shane started working.

Tweezers. Plink. Tweezers. Plink. Tweezers. Plink.

The more Shane picked at the debris in his arm, the harder Marz’s head pounded. He absolutely loathed the idea of doing this, but everyone else was busy. “B, will you find me some ibuprofen, please?” He rubbed at his forehead above his left eyebrow.

Beckett’s eyes went wide. He was the one person Marz made a point of not asking for help unless the guy offered or Marz had no choice. Not because he thought Beckett wouldn’t do it—he would. But because Marz didn’t want his best friend to see him as any weaker than he already did.

“Careful,” Shane said, eyeballing Marz. “You’re gonna have a shiner.”

“Oh,” he said, dropping his hand. A moment later, he accepted four little red pills and a glass of water from Beckett. “Thanks.”

His friend gave a tight nod. And then it got quiet and awkward again. Marz felt like whistling. Or telling knock-knock jokes. Or sticking a fork in his eye. Literally, anything would’ve been better than having the woman he wanted and the friend who couldn’t not worry about him watch him get doctored up.

Bracing his hands on the counter, Beckett dropped his head and rolled his neck. Marz frowned as the guy eyeballed Emilie, because Marz could almost see the wheels turning in his friend’s head.

“Did you know Derek saved my life?”

“Beckett,” Marz said, as surprised to hear those words come out of his friend’s mouth as he was embarrassed that Beckett was telling Emilie.

Her mouth dropped open and she shook her head.

“Our Special Forces team got ambushed at a roadblock,” he said, completely ignoring Marz. “Seven didn’t make it. I’m only here—”

“B.”

“—because Derek knocked me out of the way of a grenade. Instead of being blown to bits, I only had a busted-up leg and this,” he said, gesturing to the scars around his eye. “Lost a little vision, too. But Derek”—Beckett met his gaze, and Marz’s chest got tight at the emotion in the other man’s eyes—“well, he lost a leg. And while he lay there bleeding to death, he told jokes. Worst injury of any of us, and he told jokes to keep everyone’s spirits up.”

Marz felt Shane looking at him, but he couldn’t meet the guy’s gaze, because hell if Beckett’s words weren’t lodging a freaking giant knot in his throat.

Beckett twisted his lips and his Adam’s apple bobbed on a hard swallow. “He is the most loyal and self-sacrificing person I’ve ever known—”

“Jesus, Beckett,” Marz said, dropping his face into his hand. Why the hell was the guy doing this right now?

“—and he didn’t have a choice but to lie to you. To protect us and to protect you. And since he was protecting us, he couldn’t immediately trust you. Not when you were the sister of a man who, I’m sorry, we know is involved in criminal activity and we have more than a passing suspicion was involved in the corruption in Afghanistan that led to the ambush, our friends’ deaths, and our discharge from the Army.”

Emilie blinked at him, mouth and eyes wide.

“So, I hope you’ll give my man here a chance, because he deserves it. And because there’s a lot you don’t yet know.”
